I was at my gastroenterologist office last week preparing for a colonoscopy and I came across literature for a hemorrhoid procedure called the “CRH O’Regan System”. Ok what is that? From their youtube video, it seems to be simply rubber band ligation:
On their website however, they distinguish their procedure from Traditional and Endoscopic Hemorrhoid Banding:
CRH uses a disposable ligator to create a soft, gentle suction that pulls the appropriate tissue into it. Then, the rubber band can easily and painlessly be placed around the base of the hemorrhoid, where no pain-causing nerve endings are present. (from crhsystem.com ).
The CRH O’Regan System claims an improved average time off work of 0-1 days, and no pain medication prescribed, compared to 0-3 days time off-work, and pain medication often prescribed, for Traditional Hemorrhoid Banding.
